My name is Niyousha...
I am an Integrative Certified Nutritional Practitioner (Holistic Nutritionist), yoga instructor, and reiki practitioner.
My passion for gardening and a healthier lifestyle led me to study nutrition. I provide nutritional advice in developing healthier eating habits, digestive health (gut health management), women in peri-menopause/menopause, weight management, type II diabetes, and cardiovascular health, while incorporating lifestyle changes (movement, stress and sleep).
Prior to my nutrition journey, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Toronto. I continued my education with a Masters of Arts in Education, followed by a post-graduate certificate in TESL.

![[Oil of Oregano] is very popular during low vitamin D season as a tool to nip that cold or cough in the butt! But, what it also can do is work like an antibiotic and clear out your good bacteria!
I see many using the drops as a preventative. You actually don’t need or shouldn’t be taking it as an anti-viral. Oil of Oregano has its benefits when you have an infection (always consult a health care practitioner if you have an infection to ensure it is the right recommendation for you).
There are so many other ways to prevent and help reduce symptoms than oil of oregano.

Managing #stress and sugar intake are key as both can suppress your immune system.
Movement and consuming Whole Foods are key.
You can make homemade remedies such as #ginger, #turmeric, #garlic and #lemon shots or #tea. Even an onion #syrup for coughs. Gargling can be so powerful! Look for recipes online! As well as the many supplements you can find at your health food store that can work as a preventative and can also help reduce symptoms. 🧄

It’s been around 3.5 years that I have been working on this on and off. Originally when I started I was unable to sit up and I had to sit forward as it was too much pressure. (I actually have a photo of it somewhere on my page back in 2017).
This was definitely a challenge and I took a lot of breaks in between. But, really it’s not about how long it took to get here, but the journey of my evolving practice.
I incorporate the dowel a lot. A technique I learned from one of my teachers during my yoga teacher training. The dowel is used here as self therapy to release muscle tension.
